On the search for...

...a vellia recipe. Yeah, yeah, I probably spelled that wrong, but you know what I'm talking about. :D But I don't really want the St. John's recipe that serves hundreds- just a single batch would be good! Thanks in advance to anyone who has the recipe! :)

I don't think you really need a recipe...Just throw whatever fruit you like (blueberries, strawberries--any berries, rhubarb, plums, etc)in a pot, add maybe 1/4 c. sugar per qt. of fruit, add a little water, and cook together until it is well-cooked (kinda mushy). Even if it's not perfect, it'll be great on ice cream!

What Sara said. If it gets too thin, thicken it with cornstarch.

There you have it, Jo- vellia is Finnish for fruit "mush". Yum! It usually has blueberries and rhubarb in it- neither of which I like- but I have frozen blueberries and Davin loves the stuff on ice cream.

But I cannot do it without a recipe! My mom gave me the "Oh, just throw some stuff in a pot and let it simmer". I would ruin it. For sure.
